A patio cover that’s backed for life

Every cover we install carries two layers of protection: Duralum’s transferable lifetime warranty on the product, and our own guarantee on the installation. Here’s exactly what’s covered — and how to make a claim if you ever need to.

How your coverage works

Two warranties, one worry-free install

The product warranty comes from the manufacturer. We build exclusively with Weatherwood by Duralum — American-made aluminum since 1962 — which carries a transferable lifetime warranty against defects in the material and finish. Because it’s 100% aluminum, your cover will never rust, rot, warp or attract termites, and the powder-coated, wood-grain finish needs no painting or staining to keep its look.

The workmanship guarantee comes from us. As a licensed California general contractor (License #948536), we stand behind every cover our crews install. If something isn’t right with how your cover was built or fitted, we make it right. Your specific written warranty terms are provided with your installation paperwork — keep them with your records, and call us any time with a question.

What’s covered

Protection that lasts as long as your patio

Transferable lifetime warranty

Duralum’s lifetime warranty transfers to the next homeowner — something most competitors don’t offer, and a real plus at resale. The coverage stays with the cover, not just the original buyer.

Structure & materials

The aluminum framing and panels are warrantied against manufacturing defects. Engineered and built to code, your cover is designed to handle Southern California sun, wind and the occasional downpour for decades.

Powder-coated finish

The baked-on, wood-grain powder coat is built to resist fading, chipping and peeling. No painting, no staining, no sealing — the finish you choose is the finish that stays.

No rust, rot or termites

Because it’s 100% aluminum, your cover will never rust, rot, warp or attract termites the way wood does — the maintenance headaches that end most patio covers simply don’t apply.

Our installation workmanship

We guarantee the quality of our own installation. If a covered workmanship issue comes up, our family-owned crew comes back out — you’re dealing with the same local team that built it, not a call center.

Made in the USA since 1962

Weatherwood by Duralum has been manufactured in the United States since 1962. Six decades of refinement stand behind the product on your patio — and behind the warranty that protects it.

Warranty questions

Common questions about coverage

Is the warranty really transferable?

Yes — Duralum’s lifetime warranty transfers to the next homeowner, which most competitors don’t offer and which can help at resale. The coverage stays with the patio cover.

What does the lifetime warranty cover?

It covers defects in the aluminum material and the factory powder-coated finish. Because the cover is 100% aluminum, it won’t rust, rot, warp or attract termites. Your written warranty document lists the full terms and any exclusions.

Does the warranty cover installation?

The manufacturer warranty covers the product; Southern California Patios separately stands behind our own installation workmanship. Between the two, both the cover and the way it was installed are backed.

How long does a Weatherwood patio cover last?

A properly installed Weatherwood cover typically lasts 20–30 years or more, backed by the transferable lifetime warranty and requiring essentially no maintenance.

Do I need to maintain the cover to keep the warranty?

There’s no painting, staining or sealing required. The wood-grain finish is maintenance-free — an occasional rinse is all it takes to keep it looking new.

How do I start a warranty claim?

Call or text us at 951-818-5375 with your name, install address and a few photos of the issue. We’ll confirm coverage and handle the rest, including coordinating with Duralum for any manufacturer defect.
